The Son of Blod.

............

"Tinkling glassware and winking eyes, cruiser bikes and trailing scarves." Coralie Clément's second album is now out in America, via Nettwerk.

.............

It's not comprehensive, but Concrete Blonde's entry in the Essentials series is pretty solid for the casual fan. (Of which there are many.) The eager LA post-punk of "Still in Hollywood" sounds great against the richer backdrops of "Joey" and especially "Tomorrow, Wendy", a song so beautiful it floats above its velvety, soft-focus 1990 production.

..............

Aslyn might not make the cut. I mean, think about what happened to Butterfly Boucher or Toby Lightman, to name only two. Still, Lemon Love has its moments.

I've been following your music writing for a while now. My hands hurt when I think about those sounds--I mean, Concrete Blonde? But I trust you anyway.
