Whenever Minutes.

Craig Wedren's new solo record rules. There are hints of Shudder to Think's more anxious passages, but Lapland consists mostly of Wedren's soulful, very personal observations about his life and relationships. It's an album that begins and ends close to his heart, but the songs are windows into his apartment, expressive even when the blinds are closed.

Ahheee!! Lightning Bolt is back with another flash of crackling rock power on Hypermagic Mountain, the electric duo's new album for Load. It'll singe your soul with rock! Shazam!!!!

In actuality: get Hypermagic'd here.

......................

Gonna make you sweat til you bleed: "...Detroit Cobras vocalist Rachel Nagy sings with a cocky, slow-burn confidence that's throaty enough to handle the material but is all kinds of unique, too."

........................

"Vestiges of [Friends of Dean Martinez]' tumbleweed lounge music remain" on their new album, but "Lost Horizon digs deeper and burns brighter, becoming more than just music without words."

......................

Brie Larson used to be in "Raising Dad." Now she has an album out; it's called Finally Out of P.E., which (maybe purposely) reads like an SMS message. I Snuck Beer into P.E. might've been cooler, but what do I know? I've never acted opposite Bob Saget.

Holiday Corner:

Somewhere a parent is standing in line waiting to purchase Cheetah-licious Christmas for her child, cursing Walt Disney and fighting off waves of desire for a chemically orange snack food she hasn't thought of in years.

Well, tonight thank God it's them instead of you.

There won't be snow in Bono's mullet this Christmas.
